 Winter Concert

Beaverton Symphony Orchestra will immerse audiences in Sibelius’s tragic and triumphant Symphony No. 2. A composer who sought and succeeded to capture Finland in music, Sibelius’s second symphony conveys the vastness of his country’s landscapes, its political turmoil, and the pride of overcoming the impossible.

With other works by Saint-Saëns and Delius, the Beaverton Symphony Orchestra invites you to attend the second concert of the 41st season under the leadership of newly appointed music director, Pierre-Alain Chevalier. “Rich harmonies, lush orchestrations, and profound subjects are the themes of this concert. From the raucous and rhythmic Bacchanale, to the sensuous Walk to Paradise Garden, to the vast, heroic journey of Sibelius’s Symphony No. 2, our audience will need to remind themselves to breathe.”

Pierre-Alain Chevalier, conductor
